Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College ACM Student Chapter

ACM at Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College is an official student body incepted in 2016 under the aegis of Department of Information and Technology, Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College. We are a group of dedicated IT students and staff, who are working towards promoting the knowledge of Computing Science to IT as well as non-IT students with the aim of improving general as well as specialized scientific interests. The chapter aims at uniting the computing fraternity at Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College under one tag and allowing the students to share their knowledge with professionals all over the world. The chapter organizes a number of events including programming contests, talks by renowned speakers, workshops, and field-trips etc., which give the students an exposure to the competitive computing world as well as allow them to understand the advancements going on in the computing sphere worldwide. We have a technically strong team of experts in various fields, who are looking forward to integrate their skills and renown their talents. In line with the purpose defined by the Team Trust, following the objectives of the Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College, to equip the students.

The Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College was established under the inspiration of His Holiness Guru Marudhar Kesari to provide engineering and technical education to the Jain community, wherein other community students would also be admitted irrespective of their religion, caste or creed. There is no capitation and donation.

The Association for Computing Machinery

The Association for Computing Machinery is a U.S.-based international learned society for computing. It was founded in 1947 and is the world's largest and most prestigious scientific and educational computing society. ACM is widely recognized as the premier membership organization for computing professionals, delivering resources that advance computing as a science and a profession; enable professional development and promote policies and research that benefit society.

Aim of the Chapter



We aim to instil the spirit of technology and computing among the students of Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College, through the various fields in which modern Information Technology has been developed in. The chapter aims in providing the members an uncommon opportunity to expand their network beyond their immediate professional environment. It is a unique chance to work with other accomplished individuals from diverse areas of computing towards the common goal of shaping the future of the computing community and society.

Vision Of the Chapter



The Chapter will bring together next generation researchers, practitioners, educators and entrepreneurs from various disciplines of computing to address pressing challenges facing the field and society. Besides this, we provide a natural setting to develop and demonstrate the leadership capabilities, an important factor both to students in their career development and professional growth, as well as to the future of the Chapter Association. Above all, the Department will develop a network of individuals looking to support, drive and develop the field and profession of computing.

THE TEAM

  • The Team is headed by Dr. Srinivasan A, completed his ME, PhD in Computer Science and Engineering field at the Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, Chennai. He has finished his Post Doctorate at Nan yang Technological University, Singapore. He is the professor and a senior Professional member of ACM. He has published 52 Research papers in National and International journals and conferences and one book published through Pearson Education on Cloud computing techniques in the year 2013. He successfully filed a patent for one of his research works in the Indian patent office. He is a Senior Member in IEEE, ACM and Life Member CSI, ISTE. His fields of interests are Digital Image processing and Distributed Systems.
  • Mr V.K Gnanavel is an Associate Professor and the Faculty Advisor of the ACM Student Chapter. Object Oriented Programming is his area of expertise.
  • N. Hari Sumathira is the Chairman. She is actively involved in Mobile Computing, Design and Analysis of Algorithms and Big Data.
  • M. Karishma is the Vice-Chairman. Her areas of interest includes Web Development and Ethical Hacking.
  • S. Manoj Bharadhwaj is the Secretary. His specializations include Machine Learning and Neural networks.
  • S. Gayathiri is the Treasurer. She is interested in the real time verification of "Network Security Algorithms".
  • L. Abirami is the Membership Chairman. Mobile Application Development and Internet of Things are her areas of expertise.
  • M.C. Goutham is the Web-Master with profound knowledge in Web Development.
  • Besides them, we also have 11 active club members.
